Neuro Physiotherapy

Neuro Physiotherapy

Neuro physiotherapy is a specialist type of physiotherapy for people whose movement, balance or function has been affected by a neurological condition, injury or illness.

It can also be helpful for people with more complex mobility, balance and rehabilitation needs, even where there is no clear neurological diagnosis.

This may include people living with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, spinal cord injury, functional neurological disorder, as well as people who are struggling with walking, balance, falls or reduced confidence after illness, injury or hospital admission.

At Burscough Neuro Physiotherapy, this is not just one part of what we do. It is our speciality.

We deliver specialist neuro physiotherapy and rehabilitation from our centres in Liverpool and Ormskirk, as well as offering home visits throughout Liverpool and West Lancashire.

How Can Neuro Physiotherapy Help?

Neuro physiotherapy can help with:

  • Walking and mobility
  • Balance and falls
  • Weakness and coordination
  • Stairs and transfers
  • Confidence and independence
  • Upper limb function
  • Day-to-day activities at home and in the community

Treatment is always tailored to the individual, with a focus on helping you move more safely, feel more confident, and work towards what matters most in everyday life.

Why See a Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist?

Many people do not realise that physiotherapy has different areas of specialism.

A general physiotherapist may be very experienced in treating back pain, joint problems or sports injuries. Neurological physiotherapy is different. It focuses on rehabilitation where the nervous system, balance, mobility or movement patterns are more complex, often requiring a different level of knowledge, experience and treatment approach.

Our team works specifically in neurological rehabilitation and complex mobility problems, so you can feel confident you are seeing physiotherapists with the right specialist understanding.
