Get Started with Burscough Neuro Physiotherapy
The first step in starting physiotherapy with us is to arrange an initial assessment. This gives us the opportunity to understand your current situation, your goals, and what support will feel most helpful for you.
Your initial assessment lasts approximately 90 minutes and looks at all aspects of your current mobility and day-to-day function. We will:
- Assess your movement, balance and function
- Discuss what matters most to you
- Be honest about what improvement may realistically be achievable
- Create a clear plan to keep moving forward
The assessment also includes an element of treatment, so you leave with practical input from the very first session.
If you’re unsure whether neuro physiotherapy would be helpful, please feel free to call us for a friendly chat. We’re happy to talk through your situation and offer guidance on what moving forward may look like for you.
- No referral is needed. You are welcome to contact our team directly to arrange an initial assessment.
I do not have a neurological condition. Can you still help me?
Yes. While many of our patients have neurological conditions, we also support older people with general mobility difficulties, reduced strength, balance problems, falls, and changes in confidence when walking or moving around the home.
I have noticed I am becoming less steady when walking. Can physiotherapy help?
Yes. Feeling less steady on your feet is very common as we get older, and physiotherapy can help improve balance, strength and confidence when moving around. We look at how you walk, how you manage everyday activities, and what may be contributing to the change in your mobility.
Can physiotherapy help if I am feeling weaker or slowing down with age?
Yes. Physiotherapy can help if you are finding it harder to get out of a chair, climb stairs, walk longer distances, or keep up with everyday tasks. The aim is to help you build strength, move more confidently, and stay as independent as possible.
Can physiotherapy help after illness, surgery or a hospital stay?
Yes. It is very common to lose strength, confidence and mobility after illness, surgery or time in hospital. Physiotherapy can help you regain movement, rebuild stamina and safely work towards returning to your usual daily activities.
Do you offer home visits for older people with mobility difficulties?
Yes, we do offer home visits for older people who would benefit from physiotherapy, including visits to private homes and care homes. Seeing you in your own environment can be particularly helpful when looking at transfers, walking safety and other day-to-day challenges that may be affecting your confidence or independence.
